My Thoughts on The Book "Who Switched off My Brain"

For anyone who has read my article Interesting Books I've Read has certainly realized that I love reading. Reading is my favorite hobby as far as playing the piano. It has a calming effect on my mind. No matter what the genre of the book is - Fiction, Drama, Mystery, Romance, or Self-help - I will definitely make the most out of any book I have to read. And one of those books is the one mentioned above: Who Switched off My Brain?

If someone asked you whats is your greatest enemy, what would you answer? Satan the Devil? Your Rival in love? Your Boss at work? No! Your biggest enemy is your own mind.

This is what Dr. Caroline Leaf - Cognitive Neuroscientist, with a Ph.D. in Speech Pathology, Bachelor of Logopedia and Audiology, a specialist in Metacognitive and Cognitive Neuropsychology - explains in her book of more than 200 thousand copies sold.

Have you ever felt like your brain had been switched off? Have you ever felt discouraged, unable to concentrate, or defeated? Have you ever felt like you could not overcome patterns of harmful thoughts and behaviors?

If so, know that you are not the only one. All people in the world, even those apparently successful, go through a process of forming toxic thoughts and emotions that may seem harmless at first, but over time they become physically, emotionally, and spiritually dangerous.

Such thoughts can lead you to develop some common problems such as:

  •      Depression
  •      Phobias
  •      Anxiety
  •      Insomnia
  •      Forgetfulness
  •      Stress ...

Therefore, in her book, Dr. Caroline Leaf explains in a simple way the intrinsic relationship between body and mind and how these toxic thoughts and emotions are formed, as well as what to do to eliminate them.

The book is divided into 4 essential parts.

In the first part, it basically explains what toxic thoughts are and how they affect your brain negatively.

The second part explains about stress and how it triggers a toxic path that affects every cell in your body.

The third part explains how you can use Brain Science and The Scriptures to break this cycle of forming toxic thoughts and emotions and renew your mind through a process called Metacog.

You will know how to Gather your thoughts in their initial phase, Reflect on them, Write to clear them up, Review / Replace harmful thoughts, and Progress, moving on with more positive thoughts.

Finally, in the fourth part, it explains how to eliminate the 12 Pollutants from the brain, that is, the twelve areas of our toxic thinking that feed on our stress, namely:

1 - Toxic thoughts

2 - Toxic emotions

3 - Toxic words

4 - Toxic choices

5 - Toxic dreams

6 - Toxic seeds

7 - Toxic faith

8 - Toxic love

9 - Toxic physical contact

10 - Toxic seriousness (😅😅😅)

11 - Toxic health

12 - Toxic commitments

So if you want to eliminate harmful thoughts and have healthier thoughts to improve in all areas of your life, such as your relationships, your health, and even your success, then this book is more than recommended for you.
